Pew Poll: most and least religious states

A recent state-by-state "Religious Commitment Analysis" produced by the Pew Research Center's Pew Forum on Religion and Pubic Life presented some interesting results.

According to the Pew poll, more than 80% of people in Mississippi polled say that religion is "very important in their lives" making Mississippi the highest ranking state in the poll. Bottoming out the poll is New Hampshire and Vermont boasting only 36% who say that religion is "very important in their lives."

I hope the guys at the pew center asked the folks in Mississippi, and South Texas too. Most of those areas just went thru a Hurricane which FUBARd the whole place so I think thanking God for what they have would be pretty fresh on their minds.
