Iran air show canceled after Russia's warning about planned Israeli attack on Iran's warplanes

Debkafile has a most interesting story today about a planned Israeli attack on the Iranian Air Force at the Iran air show.

According to the Debkafile piece Israel planned to attack and destroy Iran's 140 warplanes that were to participate in the air show. Russia, however, apparently intervened when getting wind of the planned attack and informed Iranian authorities who then canceled the show.

The Dekafile piece notes, "Moscow had informed the Iranians that its spy satellites and intelligence sources had picked up preparations at Israeli Air Force bases to destroy the 140 warplanes, the bulk of the Iranian air force, on the ground the night before the display, leaving its nuclear sites without aerial defense. A similar operation wiped out the entire Egyptian air fleet in the early hours of the 1967 war."

If this story is true and since Israel recently attacked an Iranian arms shipment bound for Hamas then perhaps the question of who will make the next decisive strike in the Israel/Iran-Russia conflict previously discussed on this blog is being answered.
